Last Chance For Our Summer Camp Raffle Fundraiser
The ongoing violence in Haiti has displaced nearly 600,000 people, half of which are children, making safe and supportive environments like our Summer Camp more critical than ever.
The camp provides an avenue for children to escape the danger and negative influence of gang leaders. Typically, this program runs for two weeks, but with the proceeds from our raffle fundraiser, we hope to extend it!

Kenyan Forces Arrive in Haiti
In other news, the Kenyan security force has landed in Haiti to kick off their peacekeeping efforts. The first group of 400 Kenyan police officers arrived about two weeks ago with a few thousand projected to arrive in the coming weeks.
The main aim of this force is to bring some order back to the country, which has been heavily affected by armed gangs controlling over 80 percent of the capital. This situation has caused some of the worst violence Haiti has seen in decades. The goal is to stabilize things enough to hold new presidential elections and the National Assembly. At first, the force will focus on protecting important places like airports and seaports and clearing the way for aid. As they get more settled, they’ll start working with Haitian police to bring peace to neighborhoods.
Thank you for being a part of the From Roots to Wings family and for your unwavering support. We look forward to seeing you at the raffle and continuing our journey to create a brighter future for Haiti.
