It’s Summer Time!
We hope you are enjoying your summer!
We wanted to take this time to share some updates and exciting news.
School is out! Due to the political unrest that caused schools to close in October, the school year was extended into July. Now that school is wrapped up, the children are gearing up for our annual Summer Camp!
This year we will invite 100 children from the community to participate in the Summer Camp which will run for two weeks.
During this time, we will hold a variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports, yoga, and technology education sessions. Since instability is still present in the area, we are hopeful that our camp will be able to provide the children with a safe and carefree environment to have fun while school is out.
We look forward to the day when our Community Center Project is complete and we can include more children in this opportunity. Keep an eye out over the next couple of months for the launch of our Community Center Project!
We are excited to announce we are launching our first microloan group!
This group will consist of two new female entrepreneurs, alongside an existing female recipient, all striving to grow their businesses. They will attend business education classes as a group, run by members of our Haitian staff, which will prepare them to run their businesses more profitably and efficiently. For any individual in the group to be eligible for a second loan, all individuals must pay back their original loan. We hope this will encourage teamwork and peer learning.
Thank you for your continued support! Your investment paves the way for educational opportunities, safe recreational activities, and economic growth.
We hope you continue to enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,
Showdy, Cat, and Joe
